As a proud Torontonian and menswear enthusiast, I wanted to let you all know about something amazing that’s happening here in Canada’s premier city. For three days only (August 12th – 14th), the Fairmont Royal York Hotel will become the mecca of Canadian men’s fashion as TOM* will open its doors for their inaugural year. Now you may be asking what does TOM* stand for and what is this all about. With that being said, let me get you up to speed.
TOM* stands for Toronto Men’s Fashion week and it is only the 8th fashion week worldwide dedicated strictly to menswear. TOM* intends to take a stand for men’s fashion in this country through stimulating every channel of this previously small niche. Among the many exciting highlights of Toronto Men’s Fashion Week, TOM* will include collections by Canada’s most iconic and innovative designers such as Christopher Bates, Sons of Odin, Hussein Dhalla (HD Homme), Pedram Karimi and many more.
On top of a large predicted economical benefits to Toronto, TOM* has also decided to donate a part of their proceeds to Men’s Fashion 4 Hope. Men’s Fashion 4 Hope is a special initiative that brings fashion and charity together in support of the Kol Hope Foundation for Children, to help young people with disabilities at SickKids Hospital.
