If you aren’t aware, The Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) has done some pretty cool things lately. Recently, TSO did a cover of Drake's Know Yourself at the Polaris Music Prize gala, they collaborated with Shawn Mendes at We Day, and played live music for the screening of Back to the Future’s 30th anniversary. They even got caught up in Blue Jays mania, as they performed the opening anthem live before the Roger Centre crowd. I think it’s safe to say that the TSO isn’t just for your parents anymore.
This past week, I was also privileged to attend their latest show called James Bond: The Music. TSO put it on for the 50 years of James Bond, as well as its return to the big screen. The night was filled with performances dedicated to the many of the iconic songs including: Goldfinger, You Only Live Twice, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Live and Let Die, Nobody Does It Better, Skyfall, plus Sam Smith's newest Bond chart-topper, Writing's on the Wall.
Lastly, as a menswear enthusiast I am always on the lookout for great style. As you can imagine, the TSO did not let me down. Below is a visual recap of the performances, as well as some of the great tailoring on display:
