Christmas Songs We Can’t Forget

What do Snoop Dog, Justin Bieber, and Weezer all have in common?

You guessed it – at one point or another, they’ve all made a Christmas song. Many musicians have tried to create new holiday jingles, but only the select few are practically played on repeat from November 25th onwards.

Whether you hate Christmas carols or love them, chances are you’ve caught yourself humming along to a couple. In the spirit of being jolly, we thought we would reveal that one song each of us here at Mr. Cavaliere can’t help but tap our feet to. Grab some eggnog and enjoy!

Player’s Ball - OutKast

Christmas and rap may not be synonymous for most people. However, this classic track is not only our introduction to this legendary duo, but was originally featured on LaFace Family Christmas album back in 1993. As one of the first Outkast songs I’ve ever heard, I loved how they were able to articulate their experience during the holidays without the clichés you typically hear in holiday music. If you’re trying to get your holiday party poppin’, look no further than Player’s Ball.

Christmas Blues - Matt Dusk

Christmas is my absolute favourite time of year. I’m the guy who starts listening to Christmas carols in the middle of the summer to get myself ready for the holiday. It’s pretty hard to choose one song, but I’ve always had a soft spot for a solid sad-boy Christmas jam. There’s nothing better to me than waking up on a cold winter morning, putting on a fresh pot of coffee and listening to Christmas Blues to give me all the feels.

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas – Michael Bublé

There is something about this song that just encompasses what Christmas means to me. The season itself is typically quite busy until Christmas eve, but once that day arrives, I feel as if this song simultaneously starts playing in my head. There have been many amazing renditions of this incredible Christmas jingle - from the likes of Frank Sinatra to Judy Garland. However, for some reason Michael Buble’s version is one I thoroughly enjoy the most.

All I Want for Christmas is You - Mariah Carey

By no means am I a Mariah Carey fan, but you’ve gotta admit that AIWFCIY is a classic! I dare you to find someone who won't belt it out as soon as it comes on. It also gets better the more mulled wine you consume. Don’t forget to hit those high notes!

It's Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas – Frank Sinatra

When December hits, this song immediately pops into my head – as it goes well with the changing of seasons, festive Starbucks drinks, and holiday window displays. Frank Sinatra performs one of the songs best renditions.
