3 Boots Every Guy Needs this Winter

Whether you like it or not, winter is on its way. When the weather cools down, your layers should bulk up; this also includes your footwear. A strong winter boot game includes both dressy and rugged options. The best thing about boots is that, with few exceptions, they’re versatile enough to enhance any outfit, no matter the situation. For this reason, I went to go visit my friends at Town Shoes on Bloor Street in Toronto to check out their men’s floor and to choose 3 essential boot options any guy can add to his footwear arsenal this season.jc-15jc-4Black Chelsea BootsChelsea boots are among the most versatile boot options out there. The simple elastic ankle construction makes them easy to slip on and off. In my opinion, they’re some of the most comfortable options out there. A black Chelsea boot has an innate rock and roll feel to it, but when paired with a suit, can be worn as a winterized dress shoe.jc-14jc-16Moss Suede Lace-up BootsSuede is one of those rich fabrics that’s perfect for colder days. They can add a luxurious touch to even the most casual outfit, but be warned, these aren’t your everyday boots – especially in the snow. These chocolate moss colored options from Chippewa are perfect for guys who already have a brown boot, but want to add something to their collection that is slightly more fashion forward.jc-9Duck BootsDuck boots are what I like to call “blizzard boots”. Duck boots were originally created for hunting, as they were comfortable enough to walk in the snow and rain. They got their name from the rubber base of the shoe, which resembled a duck’s beak. Since then, there has been many updates on the classic silhouette and everything from leather to fur has been experimented with for style purposes. My personal favorites are these Sorel versions, named the Cheyanne. They have a leather upper shell, which gives the boot a more luxury feel. They’re also waterproof and their seam is sealed by Thinsulate.jc-11For more great boots to keep your feet stylishly warm this winter, head over to Town Shoes and try their Bloor St location where they have a dedicated men’s section.
