3 Simple Tips to Take Your Outfit from Day-to-Night

Life is busy. Whether you’re running from the office to dinner or from a meeting to drinks with friends, having a transitional outfit is key to always looking your best. With that being said, nailing a great day-to-night look isn’t as hard as it may sound.

With help from my friends at First Canadian Place and Exchange Tower, we decided to put together a list of 3 simple tips to take your look from work to play.

1. Lose the tie

One of the easiest ways to dress down an outfit is to loose your tie. When you wear a tie, you command respect. However, removing it can give you a laidback elegance that is great for various after-work events. Just remember, don’t just loosen the tie – get rid of it all together! There is nothing worse than seeing your tie not done all the way up to the collar. It’s just plain sloppy.

2. Throw on some dark denim

I don’t know about you, but I love being in denim. Dark jeans are a great way to take the pretentiousness out of a jacket. Just make sure the denim you’re throwing on is dark and fitted! You don’t want to pair your perfectly tailored blazer with your schlubby-looking weekend work jeans.

3. Boot up

As I have previously mentioned in a couple of posts, there is nothing more versatile and comfortable than a Chelsea boot. Switch your wingtip lace-ups for a slip-on boot, like this one from Loding, and you can be assured that you not only look good, but you are giving your feet a break from your 9-to-5 shoes.

If convenience is as important to you as it is to me, then you are going to love First Canadian Place and Exchange Tower. It’s the perfect one-stop-shop because it has everything a guy needs to look his best, all under one roof. You can get a haircut and shave at Maverick Studio for Men, grab an awesome outfit at Vassi and get it altered and pressed at 5th Avenue – all without stepping foot outside of the Tower.
