A Night of Mangiare Bene with Gabbiano Chianti Classico

Since I come from an Italian background, I would have to make the argument that Italians make the best food and wine in the world. In the spirit of mangiare bene (eating well), I planned a dinner in collaboration with Castello Di Gabbiano, for a couple of my team members that would even make Nonna proud.

When it came to picking a location for such an evening, we wanted to choose a restaurant that made classic Italian dishes better than anyone else. It was safe to say that we made a good decision when we chose Capra’s Kitchen by award-winning chef, Massimo Capra.

We started the evening by doing Gabbiano’s side-by-side tasting. We were told to try two different types of wine, one being Gabbiano Chianti Classico and the other, a competing brand. When judging which one we liked better, the medium ruby colour and flavours of dried cherry, red berry fruit and gentle baking spice of the Chianti Classico was undeniably the winner of the two. We also learnt that Gabbiano is holding a contest called the Ultimate Tuscan Adventure contest. The three of us decided to enter for a chance to win a trip for two, to the historic Castello di Gabbiano, located in the heart of the Chianti Classico region in Italy!

Soon after, we met the executive chef at Capra’s, Chef Ryan Wilson-Lall. After he let us know we were in for a feast, we salivated for a couple of minutes before the first course arrived. So, pour yourself a glass of Gabbiano Chianti Classico vino and feast your eyes on our delightful dinner.
