There’s something about being in the city that just feels right. The crowded landscape, the sky scraping buildings, the street meat vendors; it all may sound like a nightmare to some, but for me it feels like home. Style in the city is like no other. City slickers often pair their clothing in unique and interesting ways that suburban folk like myself love to gawk at. For that reason, I wanted to put together an outfit that wouldn’t look out of place on the streets of New York City. Welcome to the concrete jungle.
As you may know already, my favorite way of dressing is mixing traditional menswear items in a modern way. These beige camel printed chinos have a long history on the campuses of Ivy League schools in the United States, but when paired with New Balance sneakers give it an up-to-date/downtown feel.
I love this chambray jacket. It’s casual enough to throw on with a t-shirt, but fitted and structured enough to be paired with a shirt and tie. I’m also a fan of its super lightweight properties, as it’s the perfect layer to wear on those hot summer days.
For some reason I have been going to my headwear collection more often. I got this grey fedora probably 3 years ago and until this year I’ve probably only worn it 2 or 3 times. It may be because of my more laid back career or that headwear is making a real stand in menswear, but either way it works for me!
